Roman is a resident of an alternate universe that Deadpool and Wolverine briefly entered during an adventure where they were bouncing through various alternate realities. Deadpool dubbed this one the “Romantic Comedy Universe”, since it appears that everyone’s lives follow the tropes of romantic comedy movies.

Roman was accidentally knocked over by Deadpool, and was at first annoyed and then immediately smitten with the masked merc. Roman introduced himself and explained that he is a simple small town man all alone in the big city. Deadpool was excited to be living in a romantic comedy, but Logan reminded him that they were on a mission and had no time for romance. Roman was left confused as Wade left rather than stay and fulfill his role in their ‘meet cute’.

As Deadpool and Wolverine raced off, they bumped into several more people, leaving various other interested men and women in their wake.
