Brielle Brooks is the daughter of Eric Brooks, the Daywalker known as Blade. When she was born there was no indication of whether she was a dhampir like her half-vampire father; her supernatural attributes did not manifest until she was a teenager. When Bri’s mother, Safron Caulder, discovered that Brielle had learned about vampires and had started to develop powers of her own, she summoned Blade and together they explained about her origins. Eric had tried to live a normal life with Brielle and her mother when she was born, but eventually had to leave due to his other responsibilities and to keep Brielle safe. Dr. Strange had cast a spell over her when she was a baby to make her invisible to magic users, to hide her from Blade’s many enemies.
Brielle trained with her father to learn how to fight and how to use her powers. She has superhuman strength, agility and reflexes, but her powers don’t activate until after dark making her vulnerable during the day and early evening. She also has the vampiric need to ingest blood, but she controls that hunger with a special serum.
Taking on the superhero name of “Bloodline”, Brielle saved both of her parents when they were kidnapped by one of Blade’s enemies. She has also gone on missions with her father while Blade continued her training.
Bloodline was recruited into the new Avengers Academy where she became close with her classmate Escapade, aka Shela Sexton. Over time their friendship started to become something more. Brielle was initially confused about her feelings, but came to accept that she was attracted to Shela. Brielle believes she is bisexual but is not prepared to label herself at this time.
